Frequently asked questions

Why does my photo appear sideways in the first place?
Cameras record the orientation in hidden EXIF data instead of rotating the pixels. Some apps read it, some don’t — so the same photo looks fine in one place and sideways in another. This tool rotates the actual pixels, which every app understands.
Does rotating lose quality?
The image is re-saved once at high quality (or losslessly for PNG). For a normal photo the difference is invisible, and rotating multiple times before saving doesn’t stack any loss — only the final result is encoded.
Can I rotate by a custom angle, like 5°?
Not here — this tool keeps to 90° steps and flips so nothing gets cropped or distorted. Free-angle straightening would need to crop the edges of your photo.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. Rotation and flipping happen inside your browser using your device’s own processor. Your photos never leave your device.
