Compress a PDF.

Shrink a PDF for email limits and portal uploads. Pick a preset level, or set an exact target like 200 KB — great for scans and photo-heavy documents.

Your files are processed on your device and never uploaded.

How it works

  1. 1Drop a PDF into the box above, or tap to browse.
  2. 2Choose a compression level, or switch to Target size and enter a number like 200 KB.
  3. 3Tap Compress PDF. Pages are optimized on your device — nothing is uploaded.
  4. 4Download the smaller file. The result shows exactly how much you saved.

Frequently asked questions

How does the compression work?
Each page is re-rendered as an optimized high-resolution image and rebuilt into a new PDF. This dramatically shrinks scans and photo-heavy files while keeping them sharp on screen and in print.
Will my text still be selectable?
No — rebuilt pages are images, so text remains perfectly readable but can no longer be selected or searched. For text-heavy PDFs that must stay searchable, this tool is not the right fit.
How do I compress a PDF to exactly 200 KB?
Switch to "Target size", type 200, and tap Compress PDF. The tool searches for the best quality that fits under your target. Extremely low targets on long documents may land slightly above.
Is my document uploaded for compression?
No. Everything runs in your browser — your document never touches a server, which matters for contracts, IDs, and medical records.
