Heavy PNG screenshots and graphics are a common reason a page loads slowly. WebP keeps the transparency and the sharp edges, usually at a fraction of the size.

Frequently asked questions
Is transparency preserved?
Yes. WebP supports transparency, so logos and cut-out graphics keep their see-through areas.
How much space does PNG to WebP save?
It depends on the image. Photographic PNGs often shrink by 70–90%; flat graphics and screenshots commonly by around half. The result card shows the real number for each file.
When should I keep the PNG?
When the file is going somewhere that does not accept WebP — many forms, older design tools, some email clients — or when you want a lossless master to edit later.
