Compress an image to 10 KB.

Ten kilobytes is the budget many application forms set for a scanned signature. Drop in your signature or photo and the tool finds the sharpest version that fits.

  • Compression runs in your browser — the photo never leaves it
  • Set an exact target like 100 KB and the quality is found for you
  • Keeps your original if re-encoding would only make it bigger

How it works.

  1. 1Drop your signature or photo into the box — 10 KB is pre-set.
  2. 2Tap Compress to 10 KB. Quality and dimensions are balanced on your device.
  3. 3Download the file, and check its size on the result card before you upload.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get a clean signature under 10 KB?

Sign in black ink on plain white paper, photograph it in daylight, and crop tightly around the signature before compressing. The less background there is, the more of the 10 KB goes to the ink itself.

Can a photo really fit in 10 KB?

A small passport-style photo can, at reduced dimensions such as 200 × 230 pixels. A full-size phone photo loses a lot of detail at this budget, so crop to the face first with the crop tool.

The form says 10–20 KB. Which should I aim for?

The top of the range. A file just under 20 KB looks noticeably better than one at 10 KB, and both pass — use the 20 KB version of this tool for that.
