Convert AVIF to JPG.
Settings
AVIF is the newest web image format — tiny files, but plenty of apps, editors, and forms still can’t open them. Turn them into JPGs that work everywhere, without uploading a thing.
- Conversion happens on your device, not on a server
- JPG, PNG and WebP, with the quality under your control
- No watermark and no signup, however many files you convert
How it works.
- 1Drop your AVIF files into the box above.
- 2JPG is pre-selected, and 90% quality keeps the picture looking the same.
- 3Tap Convert to JPG. Your browser does the decoding — nothing is uploaded.
- 4Download the JPG files.
Frequently asked questions
Where do AVIF files come from?
Websites increasingly serve photos as AVIF because it is about half the size of a JPG at the same quality, so saving an image from a page often gives you one. Some phones can shoot in it too.
Why won’t my AVIF open?
Support is still patchy outside browsers: older Windows Photos, Office, many editors, and most upload forms reject it. JPG is the format they all accept.
My browser says it can’t read the file. What now?
Decoding happens in your browser, so it needs one that understands AVIF: current Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari on iOS 16.4 or later all do. On an older phone, try a desktop browser.
